yay! schedule for Mac in!!

So, here is what I will be taking (poor girl!) this, the last of my years at McMaster University. Sniff sniff. You CL people! Let me know if I'm sharing anything with you, or history people for that matter.

Ahem.

Art History 1A03 - elective; always wanted to learn more about art, so thought it would be a fun & different distraction.
- looked at evaluation for this course; got excellents all around! Good sign..

Thtr & Film 2G03 - Murgatroyd's Ancient History in Film - I got in! Yay! So yeah, I heard that this is an awesome course. Should be fun.

THE BIG GUNS...

HISTORY 4M06 - History of Science & Technology... - blaaaaaaaahhhhhhhaarrrggghhhh

HISTORY 4BB6 - Modern Japan - looking forward to seeing Dr. Barrett again; should like me more, now that i got an A- on his last course.

COMP LIT 4E03 - "Topics in Comp Lit" - this year, it's "topics in historical translation."...hm. sounds interesting, don't know what it involves whatsoever though..

COMP LIT 3AA3 - Gender & Sexuality - thought, "well, I did really good on my women's history course...this can't be THAT far off. Sounds interesting, as well. Wonder if whathisface will be back to teach it??

COMP LIT 3Q03 - History of Critical Theory - decided to go with this after all; hey! It fit in my schedule, whereas other Comp Lit's did NOT. Not that psyched about this one

COMP LIT 2F03 - "contemporary critical approaches blah blah blah" - not so sure about this one, either. Meh.

COMP LIT 2E03 - "concepts of culture" - Enlightenment to the present. Meh, again. Sounds cool.

------------------------------------

So, there I have it. Not too bad...sounds like it will be interesting, along with being alot of work. Not too scared right now, really, which is good.

Needed to take electives, fill things out for my degree requirements. Still don't know how I messed everything up so badly! Ah well.

Later.

Oh shit! 3Q03?! Yikes! Unless you have a prof who knows how to make it interesting, you will be chewing on your fingertips a month into the class. Get ready for lots of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the like...! Good luck!

Myar. I'm in the history of translation too. yuck. i emailed the prof to ask if we were reading translated books or theories of translation. She/he said the latter. boo.
I took 2F03 with searls-giroux. It was okay.

I'm in history of translation too (I think it was on our requireds list and its one of the only ones being offered IIRC). *reads Amanda's post* we're going to be examining actual theories of translation? *sigh* I'd hoped not, but oh well we've gotta take it anyway.

I've taken some of the Comp lit 2nd and 3rd year courses you picked....all I can say is good luck ^^;

Yay! I'm so happy that 2 of my fave people will be in a class with me, so that we can all commiserate together!

I'm getting scared about these other comp lit courses...how hard and boring ARE THEY!?!?
